A design manager: I have 20 years of experience working in the marketing, web, and visual design field, from the agency perspective as well as in house design team and client perspective. I understand the unique dynamic of each side.
I focus on a Human Centered Design approach, and my team delivers unique solutions that address the needs of the end users.
Leveraging my knowledge of design and education technology, I serve as the academic leader to nearly 800 students and over 70 full-time and part-time faculty members. I effectively operate and serve both the Web and New Media community as well as the external community of industry. I hire, manage, and coach a high-performing design and tech instructional team.
In this independent creative agency, I lead a team of designers, front-end developers, engineers, copywriters, interaction designers and UX designers collaborating on client projects. I oversee program and product design, visual design, UX research/design and production. I lead design projects that demonstrate significant customer and business impact while considering every aspect of the user journey.
As the co-founder and president of an award-winning wholesale and retail dairy-free company, I lead marketing and operations efforts. I successfully grew the startup business with regional distribution. Over ten years in operation, I led the development of multiple product lines. A problem solver, I support all operational aspects of the product design team to improve team communication, remove roadblocks, and ensure the team members can spend their time focusing on their work.
An Educator: Design is a community. I share my knowledge and collaborate with my peers. I teach VR, Visual Design, Design Thinking, UX and programming courses at various universities. Here are the highlights of some of the projects I led for schools and/or developed in my courses.

Bring digital technology for teaching and learning to Africa (Presentation)
We see tremendous challenge in bringing digital technologies in teaching and learning to North Africa. Here we present two projects, both of which are in their beginning stages. One is to set up an adult computer training course in refugee camps in Chad; the other to provide training courses and material to primary school art teachers in South Sudan. Both projects are facing the same challenges, just to name a few: managing logistics, delivering technologies for the purpose of teaching and learning, and overcoming language barriers.
